A third pre-season run out for The Crows and whilst a good result this game lacked the quality of the previous two games.

The hosts often put ten players behind the ball and tried to hit Royston on the counter attack but The Crows dominated most of the first half, scoring three times in the first 35 minutes and maybe a bit fortunate not to add 2 or 3 more.

The playing surface at the Cheshunt Country Club was really not up to high standards which didn't really help either team but the excercise was still worthwhile.

Ryan Lockett scored a 10th minute opener for The Crows, finding himself free eight yards out he side stepped a defender and placed the ball into the corner.

Tom Pepper doubled the lead midway through the half reacting quickest to convert a poorly defended set play and Mitchell Bryant converted a third from close range after his initial effort had hit a post.

What quality was shown in the first half visibly dropped in the second from Royston's point of view and the game dimished more into a training game feel. One surging run from Ryan Ingrey saw him pulled down in the area and Ross Collins converted the penalty before Hoddesdon, who had much the better of the latter stages of the friendly, scored a late consolation with a well struck deflected effort finding the net.
