Derby day delight for the Crows, as they overcame Hertfordshire rivals Bishop’s Stortford in a tightly contested encounter.The game started with not much separating the two sides with both teams had penalty claims waved away.

The Crows crafted a few nice moves down the right hand side, which eventually led to the opening goal. On 27 minutes, Crows skipper Murray carried the ball forward, and his deflected pass found Iaciofano in the box, who struck his effort on the volley and into the far corner.

Just under 10 minutes later, The Crows looked to double their lead, after Stephenson’s cross from the right was met by Iaciofano, whose header forced Hayton into a great save, as he tipped over.

The second half started with the visitors beginning the brighter, without really testing Chadwick in the Crows goal. However on 63 minutes after a few crosses, the visitors midfielder DaSilva had an effort blocked.

Minutes after, Brighton played a great pass out to Stephenson, who after doing well down the right, whipped a ball across the away sides box to Iaciofano who claimed his, and the Crows, second goal of the game.

Just over 10 minutes later, the away side managed to get a foot back into the game. A claim from a corner and a long goal kick caught the Crows on the counter, as ex-crow Castle toe-poked his effort past Chadwick.

In stoppage time, Debutant Bates made an important block from close range to deny Stortford, and the Crows ultimately emerged victorious.
