Royston Town 1-1 Potters Bar Town
The Crows were back at Garden Walk following a return to winning ways last time out away to Aylesbury Utd. Unbeaten Potters Bar were the visitors with the Crows looking to build on last weekends 3-2 victory.
Royston Town were held to a 1–1 draw by Potters Bar Town at Garden Walk on Saturday afternoon, with the Crows taking the lead through Harvey Beckett before Andrew Bennett’s second-half equaliser ensured the points were shared.
First Half
The Crows started brightly and looked the more threatening side during the opening stages. Potters Bar posed a danger from set pieces, with Kian Harness doing well to head clear from one corner before Elliot Krasniqi was called upon to punch away a dangerous long throw.
Royston continued to press at the other end, with Revin Domi seeing an effort blocked before Harvey Beckett had a dangerous cross cut out as the Crows looked for the breakthrough.
That pressure eventually told in the 36th minute. Harvey Beckett found the back of the net to put Royston ahead, giving the hosts a deserved reward for their positive first-half display.
Beckett was cautioned five minutes later as Royston protected their advantage, but the Crows remained in control through the remainder of the half.
Potters Bar were unable to find a way through before the interval and Royston went into the break 1–0 ahead.
Second Half
Potters Bar came out looking for a response after the restart, with Taylor Parr booked three minutes into the half before the visitors made their first change.
The equaliser arrived in the 63rd minute when Andrew Bennett’s effort took a deflection and found its way past Elliot Krasniqi, bringing Potters Bar level at 1–1.
Royston responded with a double change in the 69th minute, bringing Cemal Ramadan on for Konstantin Ivanov and Jamie Judge for Josh Coldicott-Stevens. The game became increasingly competitive as both sides looked for a winner, with Cyrus Babaie and Krasniqi both booked before Archie Locke was also shown a yellow card.
The Crows continued to push forward and made further changes as they searched for a way back in front, with Nathan Godziemski replacing Kian Harness in the 80th minute. Five minutes later, Jack Davis and Stevy Brouwers were introduced for Alfie Warman and Revin Domi respectively as Royston looked to make the most of the closing stages.
Neither side could find the decisive breakthrough, despite both continuing to search for a winner. After five minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed a 1–1 draw at Garden Walk, with the points shared between the two sides.
