Important Result at Leighton

Hi Everyone,

A good but hard working result was earned by us on Saturday.

It should have been easier with the start and the amount of chances created by us, we could have been done and dusted within the first half.

We got in front from a superb free kick by Scott Bridges. Thinking myself now to kick on and kill the opposition off it never happened!

Second half and to push on. We started OK, a few more chances but not finished so the 1-0 score line was delicate to say the least. Up until the goal Leighton never really threatened then the best bit of play in the whole game came from them and we found ourselves back level with all to play for.

We didn’t react well and played devoid of any confidence and quality for the rst of the duration of the match.

We got out of jail by a Liam McDevitt finish towards the end of a scrappy game but no complaints from us.

It wasn’t a great performance from us but at times the result is more important. The lads will play better but they all kept going and fair play to them for that.

The season will not be all plain sailing, week in week out. There will be matches like this that coming out of it with maximum points is the priority. Hopefully the boys will keep believing and our results will get more positively predictable. It will need all of us to keep believing we can succeed. The base is there just now to carry on, week by week believing!!

Cheers,
SC
