Great Attitude Shown

Yet again a great attitude shown by the boys tonight coming back from 1-0 down to win 3-1!!

We started brightly enough but didn’t have the vital “Cutting edge” to put us in front.

As so often happens in football if you don’t take your chances you will get punished and we certainly did. A ball coming out to the edge of our box was not shut down quickly enough and their midfielder struck a fine shot into the back of our net.

1-0 down and character to be shown. It came in abundance and a fine flick on from Rob Mason was superbly executed by Ryan Ingrey to put us level at half time!!

Hopefully a honest but positive talk was displayed by me at half time with the lads going out with the belief we could get ourselves ahead and we did, via a penalty by Scott Bridges.

2-1 but too close for comfort. A further penalty was awarded to us. Scott to take, although our regular penalty taker in Jack Bradshaw was on the pitch, Scott took a correct choice in my opinion. Unfortunately Scott missed but fair play for having the belief to take it!

A second sending off made things a lot easier but the elusive third goal took till the 88th minute to come. A bundled effort from Simon Thomas secured our win.

Very pleasing and now onto Thursday where we play Aylesbury away.

Results not going our way tonight means a must win game for us to keep alive a automatic promotion but we will give it our best shot!!

We believe we are the best team in the league but at this moment in time we are the third best!!

“A week is a long time in football” is a statement regularly used, never more so than this week!

Support is needed please!

The lads have made mistakes but endeavour has never been in question. We all need to remain positive and who knows!

Cheers
