A Satisfying Pre-Season

Hopefully a great night was had by everyone attending our sponsors night at Garden Walk this evening.

We played a strong Leyton Orient team who considering that they have a match on Saturday, brought a team full of lads with football league experience up to play us. A big thank you to my old mate Andy Edwards for doing this and a massive thank you to the club in general for giving the game as much respect it deserved!!

We have now played three pre-season games in a row against teams from a higher level than ourselves and dealt with these teams admirably.

The results secondary to performances at this stage but certainly lessons learnt on the defensive side of the game.

Some really solid shows from all the lads in these matches has brought a togetherness and belief needed to start a successful campaign.

The players have gone out tonight to enhance our bonding, most attending, showing commitment to the cause.

Obviously with a big squad as it is there will be a few feeling disappointed come August 6th but we will need all of you so keep together boys!

Signs are good but not getting carried away with anything. The good news for me is no major injuries and fitness level improving so a satisfying build up has been had.

Two training sessions and then we go.

Kiddlington to start with. A promoted team so one that is tough in as much as they have a winning mentality amongst them. We will not be taking them lightly and expect a very tough encounter.

Everyone to keep their feet firmly on the ground. Work hard and hopefully show our recent form can bring positive results. One match at a time. Never getting ahead of ourselves!!

Cheers,
SC
