An Important Result

Well!! We certainly like getting our results the hard way!!

Reflecting on a 4-1 win against Arlesey Town FC. It sounds convincing and the score line suggests that but after being 1-0 up at half time, we looked at going into the second half with the elements in our favour. We had the opportunity to stretch that lead but a penalty by Jack Bradshaw was saved by their goal keeper. Almost straight away Arlesey got themselves level so a contest was to had with the final 35 mins still to be played.

Simon Thomas scored his second of the day by bustling their centre half and on both occasions finished superbly!!

Then the unstoppable Rhys Hoenes got into gear and for the second time got up-ended to win us yet another penalty. Jack stepped up once more to bravely put us 3-1 up. To follow that Ryan Ingrey got fouled in the area and yet another penalty was awarded. Jack slotting away for a 4-1 scoreline.

I suppose at this stage of the season the result is all important but we still strive to play as much as we realistically can. The boys are a honest bunch and although happy, know they didn’t perform to their usual high standards.

To win 4-1 and be a little critical for me shows what standards we are now aiming for.

Well done lads. Look after yourselves. We go again Tuesday!!!

Cheers,
SC
