TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – Jan 27th & 28th

Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston Town Women and Royston Town U23’s.

First up Royston Town FC travel to Berkhamsted FC in a Hertfordshire Clash in the Southern League Premier Central after last weekend’s game was postponed. Last time out we drew 2-2 when former Royston Town player now at Berkhamsted Matt Bateman put the Crows 2-0 up in less than 10 minutes only for the Comrades of Berkhamsted to score two goals in the last ten minutes to take home a point.

Berkhamsted’s nickname is the Comrades – the club was founded in 1919 by ex-servicemen and was named Berkhamsted Comrades. In 1922 the club changed its name to Berkhamsted Town until 2009 when the club was dissolved and the supporters set up Berkhamsted FC.

Not only do Berkhamsted FC have one former player in Matt Bateman but they also have Dan Newton, Dan Green, Max Bustamante and most recently Tom Newman.
