Rovers had to battle hard to win all three points on their first away match off the season.

 

The first half remained goalless with both teams creating chances, but being unable to find the back of the net. 

 

The second half got underway and Rovers upped their game. They began to play passing football and 10mins into the half got their reward. Captain Lucas Edey had his shot saved by the keeper who could only parry the shot. Edey followed the ball and fired pass the keeper. One Nil Rovers. Rovers doubled their lead quickly after. New signing Harry Hawes received the ball just in Hitchins half,he took on the defenders and passed the ball into Jack Churchill to slot home. Two Nil Rovers. Hitchin upped their game and pulled a goal back but Rovers dug dip and defended well to keep all three points.
