Match | AFC Dunstable Reserves v Royston Town Reserves |
Competition | Spartan South Midlands League: Reserve Division One |
Result | Won 2-0 |
Royston Scorers | Hoeness, Harris |
Town returned to winning ways with a fine away performance against a strong AFC Dunstable side.
After two back to back defeats, questions had been asked and the players responded in the best possible way as they set about the home side from the first whistle.
In all reality if Royston had taken the chances that the free flowing football had created the game could, some might say should have been over
after 20 minutes.
Showing a patient side to their game that had been missing recently, Royston continued to dominate the game and the patience was rewarded when HOENESS once again raced clear and finished perhaps his hardest chance of the day.
With so many talented young players involved rotation will always play a part in team selection. This policy looked to have little effect on the teams style of play when JACK HARRIS replaced LANRE ADIBIYI in midfield. Indeed it was HARRIS who sealed things for The Crows with a pin point strike into the bottom of Dunstable's net to secure the points for his side.
"Competition for places is really coming to the fore. We have a lot of young talented players all vying for a place in the teams here now"
commented assistant manager ADAM SMITH.
