Match | Barton Rovers Reserves v Royston Town Reserves |
Competition | Suburban League: North Division |
Result | Drew 2-2 |
Royston Scorers | Skeggs, Standen |
A much changed Town line up travelled to face a strong Barton side and a solid performance kept their 100% unbeaten record alive.
The opening twenty minutes were all Barton's as the Royston defence were battered by wave after wave of Barton attack and it came as no real suprise that the home side took the lead with a deft header.
ROGER SKEGGS maintained his fine goal scoring start to the season when he levelled the scores just before half time with a low drive.
Royston then took the game to the host side and MATTY STANDEN notched from close range to put them into the lead.
The game ebbed and flowed throughout the second period and with just five minutes to go Barton equalised when a looping cross deceived the Royston keeper and finished in the back of the net.
Royston: Gibson, S. Jackson, Butler, Cain, Merideth (Philbin), Bronti (Williams), Bitting, Lawrence (Bass), G. Jackson, Standen.
