Match Report: Bengeo Trinity v Royston Town Reserves

Herts Intermediate Cup Quarter Final.

Bengeo Trinity                  1

V

Royston Town Reserves 2

On a very heavy mud riddled pitch, the Crows 2nd string produced a dogged and determined performance to progress into the prestigious semi-final of the Herts County Cup.

The young Royston side started really brightly with a gusto and pace that Bengeo found hard to live with.

Greg Jackson was a constant thorn in the side for his marker and produced a pin-point cross for MARCIO DA SILVER to rifle home a sublime volley after controlling the ball on his chest.

Neither side threatened each other’s goal for the remainder of the 1st half and much of the 2nd as the  game developed into a battle against the muddy surface with both teams midfield clogging it out.

A rare defensive mix up between Skipper GWYNNE and the resilient keeper TEWKSBURY, allowed the experienced home forward to guide the ball into an empty net to level with Bengeo’s only shot on target of the whole game.

Royston were then forced into some defensive changes and to win the game introduced some young legs as the home side began to tire.

Ada Cambridge, displayed all of his wealth of experience in steadying down the visiting side and his through ball pass to REECE KING showed awareness, presence and skill as KING rounded the keeper to send Royston  into the Semi Final.
