Town Vets made the trip to Trumpington on Sunday for a Cambs Vets Invitation League game against Cambridge Ambassadors and were good value for their 3-0 victory.
Town started confidently and took the lead when John Moulding converted a Kevin Barthrop free kick from the right touchline. Moulding ghosted into the box to head Town into a 2-0 lead 5 minutes later. Wayne Hargreaves then fired a 25-yard shot past the ‘keeper to give Town a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
With Steve Holden in fine form at the heart of Town’s defence the hosts rarely threatened in the second half and although Town created good openings at the other end of the pitch they failed to score again and the game ended in a 3-0 win for Town.
