Match Report: Cambridge Vets v Royston Town Vets

Cambridge Vets 0 Royston Town Vets 2

Royston Town Vets were good value for their 2-0 victory over Cambridge Vets in a sporting game played on the Comberton Leisure Centre 3G pitch.

In a closely-fought first half, defences were on top and very few goal attempts were created. Town deservedly took the lead when Ben Bowles crossed from the right and Steve McGhee scored from close range. Lee Wilkinson, who had an impressive attacking game on the left wing, forced the Cambridge defence into a mistake and Dicky Harris took advantage to fire home the second goal.

Colin Saward was again outstanding in midfield and the central defence pairing of Nick King and Laurence Revell were rock solid.

The Vets are at home to Chatteris Vets in the Cambs Invitation League 1 next week.
