Town Vets produced one their best performances of the season to beat a strong Cambridge Vets side 4-0 at Histon on Sunday.

Peter Leete was delayed en route so Kevin Barthrop moved up front and Sean Henry came into midfield.

Town were moving the ball accurately and creating chances from the start and could have taken the lead when Barthrop shot wide with Nick Humphreys in an unmarked position. The deadlock was finally broken after 30 minutes when the home 'keeper saved well from Paul Lewis only to see the ball cannon onto the post and rebound to Lewis to tap in.

Town continued to dominate possession in the second half with Sean Henry prompting from midfield and the defence looking secure with Matt McQueen in outstanding form. Town deservedly extended their lead on the hour mark when Lewis received the ball on the left side of the penalty area and as the 'keeper moved to his left anticipating a pass across the box Lewis scored with an excellent right foot shot at the near post. Strike partner Leete then got his name on the score-sheet with a header from a Carlo Silenti cross.

Town scored their fourth and final goal in the closing minutes when Ian Allen put Humphreys clear down the left and his pinpoint cross to the far post was headed in by Leete.
