Match Report: Corinthian Reserves v Royston Town Reserves

Corinthian Res      1
V
Royston Town Res   5.

The Crows started the day as undefeated table toppers but this looked in jeopardy as the home side naturally played a better game on the sloping home pitch.

In fact Corinthian capitalised on some indecision in the Royston box to open the scoring in the 23rd minute. A fierce cross was smashed home by an unmarked home side forward to put Royston behind for only the second time in a game this season but within ten minutes the scores were levelled when triallist KANE reacted quickest at the far post slotting home GREGG JACKSONS teasing cross.

With Manager Cambridge pointing out a few hard truths at the break, Royston started the second period much, much brighter with REECE KING firing home to take the lead.
Goalkeeper BEN WATSON showed lightning quick reactions to save not once but twice to maintain his side's lead and keep them in a match winning situation.

A bold triple substitution over a five minute period paid dividends with almost immediate effect with DANIEL OSAMU opening his account on his debut heading home skipper ROB GWYNNE’s far post cross and KING adding his second and ROYSTON’s fourth moments later.

DANIEL BOND looked lively right from his introduction and rounded off a great day for the Crows with an individual effort close to full time.
