The scoreline suggests a good attacking performance from The Crows and scoring five goals was a fine effort from the team. On another day the scoreline could have been treble the final tally as Royston carved out chance after chance throughout the 90 minutes, at half time the only concern was that the game should have been out of sight.

Hanwell had made a poor start to the season and despite a good cup win in midweek they were behind in just the sixth minute with The Crows creating their first clear chance. A good team move created the chance for Kaan Fehmi and his shot across goal was turned in at the far post by Tom Malins.

The very good pitch was suitable to Royston's attractive passing game but it was the home side who had their best spell of the game after Royston had taken the lead. John McGrandles hooked one shot off the line and Jorden Gibson saved superbly from a close range angled drive but the equaliser did come on 15 minutes in poor circumstances. Ricky Young and Arin Fehmi collided contesting an aerial ball allowing the Hanwell winger a free run into the area and his low ball in was turned into his own net by John McGrandles at full stretch.

From then on it was literally all Royston as they took a stranglehold on the game and were pretty relentless in their creativity but unfortunately this was not always matched by the finishing.

They did however retake the lead midway through the half. Arin Fehmi released his brother Kaan with a quick throw from the half way line and the striker raced towards goal and curled a fine effort into the far corner.

Before half time Kaan Fehmi and Ryan Lockett twice each, Ricky Young and Tom Malins all had chances to increase the lead with Fehmi also hitting a post from close range.

Just before the interval whistle Arin Fehmi surged into the area and despite being hauled down from behind the referee deemed a dive much to everyone's astonishment

The slender lead needed to be built on and Royston maintained their good control but needed an important third goal. Ricky Young had a lob cleared off the line and Kaan Fehmi a fierce goalbound shot also unknowingly blocked on the line by a defender in the early stages of the half. It seemed only a matter of time before Royston scored and that was the case. With 20 minutes remaining Ricky Young outpaced the full back down the left channel and squared for Martin Standen to slide home at the far post.

Josh Bronti then replaced Kaan Fehmi in the latter stages and instantly found the goal trail in his first league appearance since rejoining the club from Stotfold. With 7 minutes remaining Lewis Endacott was unlucky not to score when his angled shot was deflected into the side netting by the keeper's boot but from the corner Bronti beat the keeper to the ball and headed in via the post.

It was left to Bronti to complete the scoring with just a couple of minutes remaining, again Ricky Young assisting with a good run and cross giving Bronti a simple close range finish.

A very late surge from the home side presented them two gilt-edged opportunities that Jorden Gibson did very well to block and the game was seen out with no further chances
