Royston Town Ladies beat Hoddesdon Owls 3-1 on Sunday.

Royston started the game brightly, some great football created numerous chances but they failed to test the Hoddesdon Goalkeeper. Two minutes before the break Royston conceded a goal from a header from a corner.

The Crows showed great character by responding straight from the restart when Paige Rolfe was brought down inside the area, Jo Rutherford confidently stepped up to equalise from the spot.

Hoddesdon started the second half well but the Crows defended well. Royston took the lead through Ashleigh Tuck when she broke through one on one with the keeper and finished well.

Jo Rutherford scored her second of the game to secure Royston’s win when she slotted the ball past the advancing keeper. An excellent team performance.
