Match Report: Hoddesdon Town v Royston Town

Date Tuesday 17 July 2012
Match Hoddesdon Town v Royston Town
Competition Pre-Season Friendly
Result Drew 2-2
Royston Scorers Robins, Ingrey

Another decent work out for The Crows in their second pre-season run out against a side that should be challenging for promotion this season. This game was played on a narrow pitch (at Cheshunt Country Club) which was very bobbly in patches but the entirety of the contest was played at a very good pace and both teams would have benefited from the work that was put in.

Possession in the first half was fairly even with Royston having much the better of things in the second. Overall the Crows defended well with Hoddesdon creating little in terms of clear cut chances but two mistakes, one in each half, gifted them both of their goals.

At the other end Royston's creativity was again very good but on the evening the Hoddesdon keeper made half a dozen top drawer saves at various points to keep them out. However he was beaten as Royston came from behind twice to draw the game.

In the first half Luke Robins volleyed in Josh Bronti's deflected cross and moments from the end of the game Ryan Ingrey's deflected 20 yard effort wrong footed the keeper to end an entertaining spectacle.

Squad: Gibson, Endacott, Wilson, Beck, Bradshaw, Collins, Lockett, Ingrey, Bronti, Robins, Fehmi, Matt Standen
