After the abysmal showing at the weekend that saw the Crows crash out the Challenge Trophy, Manager Kev Wilson called upon his side to show a little more character a spirit in the League fixture.

Travelling without a Goalkeeper again, Royston managed yet again to sign another under the most surreal circumstance with former assistant KEVIN CHRISTOU signing on the night, having started the season as assistant at …………………………Hoddesdon.

Royston started brightly and took the lead on 18 minutes via a guided header from talisman RHYS HOENESS.

The home side kept their heads and came back into the game more an more and it came as no surprise when the scores were levelled following an over ambitious call from CHRISTOU that allowed the home forward to sneak between the keeper and JAN STEPHENS and slot into an empty net.Royston really did lose their heads and shape for a 10 minute period and just on the stroke of the interval Hoddy increased the lead from close in.

A few gentle words of encouragement in the right ears looked to have paid of as Royston looked to dominate the opening exchanges and they were rewarded for their enterprise when HOENESS scored a rare headed 2nd goal to level.

With the game looking like a dead cert for a draw, Royston introduced LEE BATES and the master marksman proved his worth when he rocketed home the winner with just 4 minutes remaining.

Manager Wilson commented: "The second half performance was exactly what I asked for in terms of commitment. With several key players making a return we will see which characters can rise to a challenge".
