Town Vets completed their Cambs Vets Invitation Cup league fixtures with a 3-0 win over Linton to secure top spot on goal difference and qualify for the semi-finals.

Nick Humphreys and Peter Leete created openings for Kevin Barthrop to give Town a 2-0 in the first 30 minutes and Barthrop then narrowly missed the chance of a hat-trick when his shot hit the post and rebounded into play.

Mid-way through the second half Town extended their lead when Paul Wenlock put in a pin-point cross from the right and Leete glanced in a header which the ‘keeper appeared to have saved but the ball escaped from his grasp and ended up in the net.
