Match | Litlington Vets v Royston Town Vets |
Competition | Friendly |
Result | Won 2-1 |
Royston Scorers | Moulding, Leete |
Royston Town Vets were good value for their 2-1 victory over Litlington Vets in a sporting encounter played at Biggleswade United’s ground.
John Moulding put Town ahead mid-way through the first half when he ran onto a pass from Peter Leete and scored from 20 yards with a well-placed right foot shot.
Although the hosts enjoyed good possession their final ball was often misplaced and they rarely troubled Town’s defence in the first half.
Town increased their lead after 65 minutes when a free kick from Moulding on the right found Leete who swivelled and scored with a fierce drive into the roof of the net. Town continued to create good chances, mostly falling to Nehat ‘Magic’ Kocak but his magic went missing as he failed to convert any of them.
Litlington posed more of a threat in the second half and deservedly reduced the arrears on the 80-minute mark to leave Town with a nervous 10 minute-period to hold on for their 2-1 win.
The Vets play Wickambrook Vets at Garden Walk next Sunday (12th May) in the final of the Cambs Invitation Vets KO Cup (10.30am KO).
