Royston’s first ever victory in five attempts against Met Police on Saturday was over-shadowed by a serious injury to the talented Ben Watson who received a broken arm in a goal-mouth mêlée.

The visitors started brightly and from their first free kick took the lead when skipper ROBERTO GWYNNE headed home KAAN FEHMI’s driven delivery.
Displaying the trade mark possession and counter-attack football, The Crows took a two goal advantage with a goal of sheer vision and class.
BEN WATSON took firm control of a Met Police corner catching well under pressure, before throwing the ball to the ever alert and ready FEHMI, who glanced up before launching the ball from inside his own half over the stranded and bewildered Home keeper.

Met Police pulled the deficit back to a single goal in the bundle that resulted in WATSON’s injury before the two goal advantage was once again restored.

MITCHELL COOPER at last got the reward for his hard work with a fizzing low drive after fine approach play from JAMES MEREDITH and GREGG JACKSON.

Ada Cambridge was full of praise once more for his young side “To beat a team of this calibre on their home turf is a benchmark of where Kev and I and the team are and should be” he said before going on to praise WATSON.  “Ben is a fine young keeper with potential, ability and determination. He will be a big loss to us.
