Match Royston Town Reserves v Risborough Rangers Reserves
Competition Spartan South Midlands League: Reserve Division One
Result Won 4-3
Royston Scorers Skeggs (3), Bailey
The Reserves took the points in another home win.
There were several changes to last weeks opening day line up due to 1st team call ups but this had little effect as the team soon settled into the free flowing passing game that has become their trademark.
Royston opened the scoring on 20 minutes when the artful ROGER SKEGGS  calmly slotted home a precise shot into the bottom corner.

Next on the scoresheet was BRINSLEY BAILEY after great approach play from LEE BATES.

SKEGGS was again on hand with the 3rd goal finishing a superb MARVIN LUZINDA through ball.

The home sides only blip of a faultless 1st half came on the stroke of 1/2 time when SAM SPENCER headed the ball tamely back to stand in keeper JOHN BITTING who was beaten by the alert Risboro forward.

Royston really didn't come out for the 2nd period and seemed to lack that killer instinct as complacency swept through the side.
Risborough sensed this apathy and mounted a serious challenge on the home sides goal managing to pull a goal back before SKEGGS completed his hatrick.

Having used all 3 subs Royston were reduced to 10 men when BATES suffered an ankle injury which resulted in him being withdrawn from play.

The visitors now pushed even harder and Towns defence had to stand firm. The returning PETER CHAPPELL marshalled the defence well and GWYNNE was a constant outlet for Royston.

Risborough managed a goal late on but the Crows held on for the win.

Royston Line Up: Bitting,  Adcroft (Merideth),Chappell, Spencer, Gwynne, Hoeness, Adebiyi, Luzinda(Jackson), Skeggs(3),
Bailey(1) (Hutchinson), Bates.
