Match Report: Royston Town Res v Uxbridge Res

Royston Town Res 1

V

Uxbridge Res.       1

The Ressies home debut game again showed the promise of Ada Cambridge’s young side as they once again put on a 1st class show of high tempo free flowing football.

The only down-side of the day really is that Royston never took all three points.

Uxbridge scored with their only meaningful attack of the game.

Royston failed to deal with a deep cross into the area and despite a worldy save from the ever impressive BEN WATSON went a goal down when the unmarked Uxbridge number 9 fired in from the edge of the box.

ALEXIS BERNAL was a thorn in the side of Uxbridge and being aided and abetted by the ever maturing REECE KING the home side looked far more likely to score.

STUART JACKSON and the impressive PEERS BAMFORTH kept a tight reign on the defence and the attacking full backs DREW CARDINES and ADAM FLEMING were always available as pressure relief valves for the Town.

Despite continually pushing for an leveller Uxbridge stood firm up  until 70 minutes when STUART JACKSON rose highest to head home a well delivered MATT CHAPMAN corner.

With so much talent at their disposal the reserves should be in contention for a good season ahead.
