An especially good second half showing from the lads sent our U/18s into the 1st round proper of the League Cup competition and a trip to St Neots Town U/18s in mid-October.

It was a very dominant display by the team who pressed the opposition into making lots of mistakes whilst playing some fluent attacking football themselves. That said much of their play in the first half just lacked a telling final ball although both Connor Kilgallon and Perri Gentry had efforts ruled out in the period and the only goal came on the half hour mark when full back Liam Beech smashed home a poorly defended corner.

Huntingdon only offered sporadic bursts of good attacking play although Alfie Kemplen did well to tip wide a 25 yard free kick destined for the corner to preserve the advantage.

A second goal was really needed from the Young Crows and this was duly delivered by Perri Gentry in the 54th minute when he dribbled into the area and superbly chipped a stranded keeper.

Royston stepped up a further gear whilst the heads of the visitors began to drop and it was really only a matter of how many the hosts wanted to score as their attitude never waivered despite their superiority.

Further goals from John Veal, Connor Kilgallon, Joe Grossi and Callum Turner completed the rout and gave the final scoreline a fair reflection of the night's proceedings.
