Match Report: Royston Town Vets v Bury Rangers Vets

Royston Town Vets 6-1 Bury Rangers Vets

Royston Town Vets romped to 6-1 win over Bury Rangers from Hertford in the Quarter Final of the Herts Veterans Cup at Garden walk.

Playing against a gale-force wind in the first half Town’s Vets played an intelligent brand of football that outplayed the opposition and produced three excellent goals (two from Lee Ridings and one from Lee Wilkinson).

The momentum was maintained in the second half with further goals from Jon Armstrong, Steve McGee and Lee Wilkinson before the visitors scored a consolation goal near the end of the game.

It was a fine all round team performance but player-manager Stuart Snowden was the stand out player dominating the centre of midfield.

Town now play Garston at home on the 10th January in the Semi Final.
