Match Report: Royston Town Vets v Great Shelford Vets

Royston Town Vets  4-1  Great Shelford Vets

Royston Town Vets recorded a convincing 4-1 victory over current Cambs F.A. Vets League 1 champions Great Shelford at Garden Walk on Sunday.

Having sustained a number of injuries the previous week, Town Vets fielded 5 new signings, including John Moulding playing his first game of the season.

The visitors took an early lead but Town equalised soon after with a header from Mark Nunn who gave Town the lead just before half-time when he scored from close range as the Great Shelford defence stopped thinking an offside decision was forthcoming but here was no flag from the linesman.

Town dominated the second half as Nunn completed his hat-trick and then went on to notch his fourth and final goal. Lee Wilkinson should have extended the lead when through on a one-on-one with 'keeper but his shot was saved. Newcomer David Allen should also have scored when put through with only the 'keeper to beat but he fired over.
