Royston Town Vets 4 Therfield Fox & Duck 1

Royston Town Vets enjoyed a comfortable win over Fox & Duck in a competitive match played at Barton on Sunday.

John Moulding opened the scoring for Town after 15 minutes with a far post header from a right-wing corner. Dicky Harris then extended the lead with a deft lob from 20 yards.

Kicking against a strong wind in the second half made it more difficult for Town but an own goal from a right wing cross gave Town the initiative again and Steve McGee then slotted home from close range to complete the scoring for Town. Fox & Duck scored from a penalty with five minutes remaining.

Colin Saward was outstanding for Town in midfield and there were good supporting performances from Chris Geldart, Nick King and Laurence Revell
