Town Vets fought out a keenly contested 1-1 draw with Walkern Vets at Garden Walk on Sunday.
Despite the handicap of starting the match with 10 men due to injuries and late arrivals it was Town who took the lead when Peter Leete fired home a cross from Nejat Kocak.
The lead only lasted 10 minutes when a full-strength Town by now failed to clear a ball into the penalty area. The ball was driven past ‘keeper Simon Dobson into the far corner of the net by a Walkern forward .
The remainder of the match was dominated by defences with few goal-scoring chances.
Cambridge University Press will the visitors to Garden Walk next Sunday in a Cambs Vets Invitation League match.
