Royston Town Vets won a closely-contested and competitive friendly match against old foes Walkern Vets on Sunday at Garden Walk.
Town took the lead with a well taken goal from Paul Gibson midway through the first half.
Stuart Snowden had a good chance in the second half to extend the lead but fired in a shot from close range straight at the 'keeper.
Play continued from end to end but both defences remained firm and there was no addition to the score.
The Vets are next scheduled to play Cherryhinton Vets in the Cambs Invitation Cup Final at Garden Walk on Sunday 10 May (10.30 KO).
