Royston played Blackstones in a spirited performance on Wednesday evening as they come away winner in a 5-0 victory in a bizarre game where no official turned up leaving Royston qualified officials to officate.
This meant a delayed kick off by 10 minutes, however this didn’t prevent Royston from cruising to a 3-0 margin in the first half as Jordan Hall scored a brace including one from the penalty spot and Dejon Mullings put the home team in cruise control.  Royston did play some nice football throughout but lack some finesse in the final third as Tyrell Stratton, Jamie Steele all had chances wasted. Adam Sartini hit a cracking effort from 25 yards to nearly better his goal against Blackstone previously.
Blackstone to their credit never gave up again and despite their effort couldn’t stop centre half turn forward Callum Turner scoring another two after the break to add to his fine form in front of goal.
Manager Jorden Gibson commented “I don’t think it helped psychologically for players starting late and it took a while to get going and despite not being at the races throughout the whole game, we did play some nice stuff and score some well worked goal, we are trying to create a good brand of football and the players have been applying them self superbly to it. “
Royston have no game next week as Huntingdon first team now have a fixture on the same night. Royston next game will be a week Wednesday at Home to Chatteris Town.
