The Young Crows took on Blackstone in league action and dominated proceedings from the outset despite Jorden Gibson continuing to have his pre-match headache as only 12 players travelled to Stamford, Lincolnshire, which incidentally is the oldest recorded town in the United Kingdom.
Gibson was however able to welcome back Tyrell Stratton to the bench after four weeks out and the returning stopper Harry Reynolds and Antony Lane to the lineup. There was also a debut starting place for Adam Sartini.
The Crows set off with real intent as they maintained large amounts of possession in the opening half but the scoreline stay level as Lane, Jordan Hall, Callam Turner and Ed Brown all had chances well saved by the on-form home keeper.
The Young Crows saw in-form striker Hall withdrawn after thirty minutes due to an injury and replaced by Stratton who made an immediate impact with his pace causing all sorts of problems. The visiting keeper was duly left as a spectator for large parts of the half but two minutes before the end produced a neat save low to his right.

Royston were determined to stay at the tempo they produced in the first half and Turner was put though three minutes in but only to see the home keeper make a superb one on one save. However ten minutes in Turner eventually got his reward in scrappy style as he scored from six yards, he doubled his tally in similar fashion minutes later.
Captain Matt Brennan then added to the score sheet when a Sartini corner saw his cross met from Brennan who made it 3-0. Turner then completed his hat trick in similar style but with a slice of luck as full back Joe Maude continuous hard work down the left saw his cross cut back for Turner whose dodgy first touch helped him get past a player to see him get a deserved hat trick.
Sartini scored a belter from thirty yards as he picked up a free ball and smashed home a shot into the top corner leaving the home keeper with no chance.
Lane's hard work was rewarded as his neat foot work saw him leave a defender to fire home the sixth from an acute angle.
Jorden Gibson commented after the game: “We dominated from the off and should have scored more. The lads enjoyed themselves tonight which bred a lot of confidence that eventually led to winning on the scoreboard which counts as success. We are getting better and better game by game and we still have some very good players to come back, all the signs are promising now and we must continue with our strong work ethic, stay level headed and build on the confidence in order to gain success.”
