Royston Scorers Bond

Royston slumped to a miserable defeat away in the Challenge Cup Round 2 against a strong Norsemen FC side from Edmonton.

Norsemen scored the opener when the home striker picked up the ball on the edge of the area and sent a looping shot over Harry Williams.

Royston stepped up their game and had some chances to score with Spencer and Duffin going close and a fierce half volley strike from Carthy which hit the cross bar to the relief of the home goalkeeper.

With 2 minutes left of the half Norsemen extended their lead when the same striker rounded Williams after some lacklustre defending.

Half Time 2-0

After some strong words Royston started the second half brightly and with the introduction of Ryan Webb and Daniel Bond Royston strengthened their attacking options, and it was Bond who got a goal back after his lovely chip over the goalkeeper found him with an empty net to finish.

Royston then stepped of the gas and gifted another 2 goals to add to the misery of a poor performance.
