The Crows Under 18s have made a decent start to the New Year and this was one of their better midweek performances of the season.
With the heavy Garden Walk pitch quite difficult to play on after the first 20 minutes the home side began to dominate with long spells of quick passing football that was too much for Huntingdon to cope with, Jacob Leighton hit the crossbar from full on 25 yards before Matt Brennan opened the scoring on 24 minutes with an 18 yard shot that the keeper couldn’t keep out. Just before half time Louis Townsend headed in Jordan Hall's free kick to double the lead.
The second half was largely one-way traffic with a thoroughly committed team performance. Daniel Bond scored the third, beating the offside trap and the keeper with a cool 12 yard finish and Jacob Leighton did the same soon after.
Bond then hit a post from a tight angle before Jordan Hall smashed in via the crossbar from ten yards following a quick throw in. 16 year old Anthony Lane then scored his first goal for the midweek side with a rasping shot from 18 yards under the keeper's dive and the same player was unlucky soon after when his 25 yard effort struck the crossbar.
Huntingdon got a last minute consolation when their keeper ventured forward on a corner and struck home from ten yards but the visitors were well beaten by the more superior Young Crows.
