Royston maintained a 100% winning record in the mid week youth league with a resounding victory at Garden Walk on Wednesday evening.
Heavy rain presented difficult conditions for the players throughout the game but Royston had the game more than won by the 29th minute as they raced into a six nil lead.
That lead was not added to before the break and Somersham had their best spell of the game in the opening stages of the second half with an early goal and a long range effort against the crossbar.
Royston though gradually imposed more superiority and scored another two goals also hitting the wordwork twice and bringing some impressive saves from the visiting keeper including a penalty save.
Scorers on the evening were Daniel Bond (3), George Duffin (2), Jordan Spencer, Shane Carthy and an own goal.
