Match | Royston Town v Haverhill Rovers |
Competition | Thurlow Nunn Youth Cup: Preliminary Round |
Result | Lost 4-3 |
Royston Scorers | Turner(3) |
Royston's youth team performed an excellent first half going in three goals ahead at the break with a hat trick from Callum Turner. However, like the first team the previous night, they allowed the opposition to get back into the game and score a late winner.
HT 3-0
This was definitely a game of two halves, this time Haverhill produced the all but perfect display as they scored within thirty seconds of the restart and went on to dominate the second half, with a late winner sending home the visitors with a well deserved victory.
Manager Jorden Gibson reluctantly commented “I cannot get to grips with what went on in the second half, we have now conceded 7 goals in 3 games and every goal has been an individual error, not one team has had to work for any of them. It’s disappointing and in future we need to apply ourselves more professionally and not let it happen again”.
