The teams performances have been better in recent weeks and this was another which saw Under 18s progress into the last 16 of the Herts County Cup. In terms of possession the game was pretty even and very open as both sides attemped to get the ball down and play but Royston possessed the greater threat in the final third and the final scoreline was merited.
After an even half and hour Jake slipped the ball under the keeper after a defensive slip and miinutes later Jordan smashed a volley in from eight yards from Jake's excellent cross. The centre forward for Wormley shot straight at goal from kick off and the ball sailed over Owen's head and in to reduce arrears within seconds so 2-1 at half time.
At this stage the game could have gone either way with good moments in both areas early in the second half but a fine counter attack goal from a Wormley corner saw Matt head in Joe's near post cross. Wormley again kept the game alive with a ten yard angled shot across Owen before Jacob scored the goal of the game, cutting inside the area from the right and riffling a left footer into the top corner.
Elliott completed the scoring late on, beating the offside trap and rounding the keeper and converting to complete the 5-2 scoreline
