Another glorious morning at the heath for this second round county cup game.

We new they were a division below us but we wanted a good performance after last weeks set back. Today was about decision making something that had let us down last week when to pass and when to shot and when defending when we hit it out to row Z or play it from the back. We had a full strength team to choose from with the injuries from last week not as bad as we feared and also the return of James R who missed last weeks game.

We had a real good tempo from the first whistle and it was good to see last weeks defeat had not dented there confidence, we soon took the lead when good play from Ben found Rhys and he did the rest, number two followed when once again Bradley chased a lost cause before floating over a cross for Sam to head home from close range. We were playing really well and playing some nice football all over the park. Sam was fouled twenty five yards out and from the resulting Free kick Richard stepped up and as he so often does found the back of the net. Number four came courtesy of Rhys who once again showed his awareness around the box. We made some changes and were still totally on top and number five came from Matt who showed really good feet to leave two defenders for dead before slotting the ball in the corner. The half came to a end with us 5-0 up and in total control.

We were pleased with the boys they had listened to our instructions and played well, we wanted more of the same with decision making still the key.

We still dominated without showing that killer instinct in front of goal and we did change the team around a lot that also made it hard to find the rhythm we had in the first half. we did add another goal courtesy of Ross whose first touch took him away from goal but his second slammed the ball home. I liked the way we were determined to keep a clean sheet because in the second half Comets brought on a lively forward who had blistering pace but we shackled him well, to there credit they made much more of a game of it second half but we had to much quality all around the pitch for them.

Another plus was James R back from injury his crossing today was superb and on another day we would have profited a lot more from his teasing balls into there box.

All in all a good day for the boys although we were a bit wasteful in front of goal in the second half. last week seems a distant memory now but we must work hard at training Thursday especially on our first touch which at times let us down, as we have another tough match coming up away at Sawbridgeworth.
