A local derby to finish off our seasons preparations against Celtic, we had twelve to chose from on a warm night. This was for us another game towards match fitness, we know that Celtic are well organised and will make life difficult for us.

We saw lots of the ball early on and created chances immediately with the Celtic keeper making some excellent stops.Celtic were defending in numbers and making plenty of good blocks and tackles and you could tell some of the boys were getting frustrated with not turning our chances into goals, With five minutes of the half remaining we finally took one of our chances when Rhys found Ross and his shot found the back of the net, number two soon followed when Brad found Sam and he hit an unstoppable shot for number two, the whistle then blow for half time.

We were pleased with the passing and movement and our hunger to win back the ball and some of the football we played but its not the first or last time a team will set up to frustrate us so we need to stay patent and believe if we do the right things we will get the break through. Now we had the lead we needed to relax and continue to do the right things.

Number three followed straight away Sam finding Rhys with the perfect pass and Rhys did the rest. Number four came from a Jack O corner which saw Callum spin round to the back post and side foot in unchallenged for our forth. Number five was all about Rhys and his willingness to chase lost causes. Number six again involved Rhys this time his pass found Ross who had a simple tap in. Our final goal saw a good move down the right end with James B cross being turned into his own net by a Celtic defender.

We really did play some good football tonight and to win 7-0 against a spirited Celtic was pleasing, we never dropped the pace we played at which again shows the pre season we have had has been worth while. Tougher games lie ahead but we now go into this new season full of confidence.
