Let The Skyfall When We Score Four!

Royston Town U10 Girls had the chance to put last week’s result behind them as they entertained Welwyn Garden City in the U10 Div 2 shield match. It was Town who started the quickest with some neat passing between the midfield pairing of Aimee and Lydia resulting in a chance for Bryony who struck the outside of the post with a powerful shot. Royston continued to dominate with Amy and Taiah sweeping away any attack that WGC threw at them. Royston pushed forward and took a deserved lead after some battling play from Izzy the ball fell to the unmarked Kathryn who made no mistake from close range.

With the 1st half drawing to a close WGC equalized when their forward took advantage of a quick throw-in which caught out Royston’s defence.

The second half started slowly but Royston again took the lead as Katie fired home after a sweeping move cut through the WGC defence.  With Olivia and Emma holding firm at the back Royston were able to counter attack and Katie doubled her tally after being put clear by Bryony. With the game now stretched Town were able to score again as the industrious Lara tucked the ball away in the corner to make the score 4-1 and complete a fine display from the whole team.
This was a fantastic responce by everyone after last weeks dissapointing result and it now puts us into the semi final of the Div 2 shield.
