Some excellent football was on display by Royston Town u10's Rovers team who progressed through to the next round of the Herts County Cup by beating Hertford Town Stags 4-2.
In a tense opening start to the game the slick passing & movement shown by Royston resulted in a well taken goal by Zak who slotted home inside the box. A text book volley by Michael gave the home side a two goal lead, which was followed up by a touch of brilliance by Man Of The Match Noah with a thrilling run and finished with a delicate chip over the keeper.
Hertford then fought back with two unstoppable shots just before half time.
The solid defensive trio of Alfie M-B, Ben and Billy settled the nerves in the second half which allowed the midfielders Louis, Dan, Elliot and the mentioned goalscorers the appetite to press for the fourth goal which came when Noah was brought down in the box. Michael was on fire again by slotting home his rebounded penalty to take Royston marching into the fourth round.
