Diamonds got off to a nervous start against a Celtic team that had stunned them recently by beating them in the league 3 – 5.

The first 10 minutes was a battle from both sides, a typical local derby.

Slowly but surely Diamonds' confidence grew.

The game opened up with end to end football, Diamonds hit the cross bar with a great overhead kick from Jack D and at the other end Bradley fingertipped the ball over the bar from a shot that looked in all the way, Diamonds needed some good defending as Celtic piled on a period of pressure with Jack W, Lewis M,  Will and Toby, who ended the game with Man of the Match keeping Diamonds in the game.

Diamonds did some good attacking play with Chris hitting the side net and one over the bar., Thomas and Jake also broke through and had shots blocked, eventually Jack D broke through and calmly placed the ball in the back of the net passed an in form keeper.

Celtic scored from a corner that Diamonds failed to clear and all was level at half time.
Diamonds came out very strong with 3 subs in the second half George, Joseph and an impressive debut from Lathan. The whole team dominated and could of scored three or four playing most of the game in the Celtic half.

The ball refused to go in the net as Diamonds were probably trying too hard and not playing there best football in trying to force the ball over the line.Eventually a scuffed shot from Jack D rolled into the net. Diamonds kept the pressure on till the end and could have scored more.

In all a good all round performance, with a bit more composure this could have been a convincing win in the second half. It was though very pleasing to see the game finished on the front foot instead of holding on which has happened recently probably due to the luxury of having 3 subs with fresh legs. Well done all.
