A tough encounter against third in the league Melbourn saw Crows come out on top by a single goal.
Both teams defended well but Crows had lost the first game of the season against them in the last minute by pushing up for the winner and getting caught by a break away goal and were determined this wasn't going to happen again.
This time Crows defended well against a side that was always going to be a threat and relied on patience .
The first half Melbourn were with the wind behind them which gave a slight advantage to them.
They had several shots on goal but great blocking by Crows defence and superb saves by Bradley kept them out.
Crows did get forward but could not get their shots away and were glad to come in at half time on level pegging.
The second half saw a different game with Crows getting forward far more effectively this gave the defence a bit of rest bite.
Lewis and Toby both carrying knee knocks were rolled on and off several times during the game and held firm with the rest of the solid defence that improves weekly.
After five minutes of the second half after a Melbourn attack Bradley saw Wilko on the halfway line and lobbed the ball over the shocked Melbourn defence perfectly for him to run onto the bounce and put the ball into the back of the net.
Almost exactly what Melbourn had done to Crows on the first game.
It went end to end with both teams having to battle on the warmest day of the year so far, and Crows were indeed tiring but refused to let Melbourn back in
Both sides had chances and the last five minutes seemed to last ten (which actually they did)but eventually the whistle blew and for the second week on the bounce Crows had won and perhaps more importantly for next season had kept a clean sheet.
MOM shared with Toby and Callum K.
Great performance boys in fact the best this season!!!
