Kian 1,

Rovers made it 5 wins in a row with their most gritty and determined performance of the season to beat top of the table Bishops Stortford Town away.

Rovers were up for the game and after a rousing shout of Royston! the boys got ready for kick off.

Rovers pressed and hustled from the start, breaking down Towns play and creating chances of their own.  After 12 mins Rovers got their just rewards, JJ  won the ball and played it out of defense, Jack used his strength, beating a number of Town players before passing the ball to Kian who hit a good shot which beat the opposing keeper. One Nil Rovers! This gave the boys the belief that they were good enough to win. Rovers kept up the pressure, creating more chances and winning corners, but they could not find the target. Just before half time Rovers' keeper James pulled off a brave save at the feet of an advancing Town player. Rovers went in at half time One Nil up.

The second half began with Rovers winning battles all over the park. The defensive pairing of JJ and George continued to shut Town out. Rovers midfielders worked hard supporting the defense and creating chances for the attackers. When the final whistle went the boys were exhausted but happy, the coaches were proud and all the parents cheered!

A fab team performance with Rovers worthy winners.
