Rovers advanced into the next round of the League Cup with a good home win on Sunday.Both teams were very respectful and observed a one minute silence before kick off.

Straight from kick off Rovers were on the attack.Their first goal was a passing move which started from defence. George S cleared the ball from the back and his pass found Jake K who tapped the ball into the path of Kian who threaded the ball through to Lucas E who's shot was deflected in by a Buntingford player 1- 0 Rovers. Rovers kept on pressing. Harness again feeding the ball through to Lucas who shot wide. Cougars were soon awarded a dubious free-kick.The shot was well saved by Alfie who pushed it round the goalpost for a corner. Cougars equalised following a scramble from the resulting corner. Just before half time Rovers won a free-kick. Harness whipped the ball in for captain Michael to head wide. Half Time 1-1.

Rovers upped their game after a good half time team talk and attacked from the off. Kian took a quick free-kick into the advancing Lucas who finished well 2-1 Rovers. Kiam himself had a good shot saved by the keeper soon after. Rovers got their third on the stroke of full time with Lucas hitting the back of the net with a good header from a quality Kian cross.

A good Rovers win to carry them through to the next round of the cup.
