Wow 2!!

For the second week running the boys put together a brilliant all round team performance to trounce their opponents by the score-line of 11-0. This victory was all the more impressive as we only had 11 available players, including Lewis making his debut, all done on a particularly poor playing surface. The weather was cool but fine and the boys looked up for it.

George – looking solid in goal, made some good decisions and strong kicks. As the score-line would suggest he wasn’t at his busiest but came out on pitch for a ten minute cameo near the end of the game and notched a tap in.

Jonah – great game – keeping his opposition player in check and always looking to surge forward – strong on the ball and intelligent choices – and especially dangerous at set pieces – scored a well taken goal and set up George for his.

Tommy – the multi talented and versatile Tommy T slotted in at left back and looked great. Always supporting Mick up the left and tracking back well. Tommy showed his value as an excellent utility player who pushed on in midfield when asked.

Kyle – cool, calm and collected Kyle dealt with everything thrown at him, kept their tricky striker under wraps and looked a class act with some well timed tackles. Took a knock late in the first half but bravely came back on and saw out the second half.

Olly – Superb all round game – committed, tough, strong tackling and running and marking well. Good headers at both ends – one a power header from a corner that was well saved. Confident all round game.

Callum – Another hard-working and inspirational game from the skipper. His tackling and break-up play was brilliant and his forward movement and set up passing were high quality.

Jake – Looks to be relishing the tough and important centre-midfield role, linking well with Callum, and always looking to open up the forward play with intelligent passing. His positional play today was particularly good.

Mick – On fire today – scoring five good goals – especially the fourth – and looking lively and strong at all times and was unplayable in bursts. Went in goal for the last ten minutes!

Jordan – Man of the match performance – Jordan’s first half chances were limited but second half he was simply superb with fast, tricky movement, excellent crosses and deadly finishing. He is improving every week into a top drawer player.

Keiran – In whatever position we asked Keiran to play he was great. Today he played striker, midfield, full back and centre back and excelled in all roles and always in total control. Top quality delivery from corners too.

Lewis – Pleasing debut from Lewis working hard upfront, non-stop effort and creating space for the others. Slotted in at left back in the second half and kept his man under wraps – good first game.
