Rovers were in seventh heaven on Sunday as they started the new year with three points, making it nine wins from nine.
The game got under way with Rovers plying on lots of early pressure. Joe was fouled in the area and a penalty was awarded. Kian took the pen, but it was saved by ESS's goalie. Soon after Corey well hit shot went just wide. Rovers were easily the best side, but ESS took the lead with a great finish. Rovers were level soon after. Corey went round the keeper and found the back of the net. Soon it was 2 1 to Rovers. Kian found Michael whose good pass played in Corey who smashed in his shot. Ollie made it 3 1 with a curling shot and then got his second connecting with a Kian corner. Rovers were well worthy of the 4-1 first half lead.
The second half began as the first finished. Rovers were on top, creating chance after chance. Corey became provider, whipping in a cross, Harry arrived in the box unmarked and tapped in to make it 5-1. Defender George joined in the action. His accurate pass played in Corey who connected with a great finish for his hat trick. Just before full time Ollie hit a bullet of a shot which smashed into the back of the net for his hat trick.
A great team performance and by far Rovers' best of the season.
