Rovers maintained their 100% win record this season with a hard fought game at home to a good Shefford Saints side.
Both teams were up for the game with lots of encouraging calls and huddles. The windy conditions favoured Rovers in the first half. The boys were passing well and winning tackles, with the defence again standing strong. Rovers goal was scored by Corey. He hit a good shot which found the back of the net. The goal was a good team effort involving lots of pass and movement, with Kian providing a clear final pass. Rovers were awarded a corner, Kian whipped in a good cross which JJ fired just over the crossbar. Rovers won a free kick which Corey smashed from distance into the crossbar, Kian pounced on the rebound, but the keeper saved well. Another Corey free kick was crossed into the box, but Kian headed over the crossbar too. Rovers were on top but couldn't add to their tally.
Shefford came out in the second half fired up. They pressed Rovers defence, taking advantage of the wind direction. Rovers continued to make chances to, but both teams couldn't find the net.
Rovers were solid and worthy winners.
