Man of Match

Cameron

This was easily Royston’s biggest challenge of the season so far. Royston started brightly and could have scored in the first minute when, Man of the Match, Cameron  was put through but he couldn’t find the killer touch. Baldock came with a game plan which was to place as many high and long balls at the center of the Royston defence and it quickly paid dividends. Baldock scored three identical goals playing this way and Royston could do nothing about this. Up front Cameron harried and fought for every ball and got his reward when he latched on to a great ball by Bradley to slot the ball into the back of the net. Baldock continued to employ their long ball game and again profited from hesitant defending to score their third. With Royston feeling that lady luck had deserted them goals four and five were scored in quick succession. The harsh thing was that Royston weren’t playing badly and on another day could have score two or three more at this stage. With this in their minds Royston began to get themselves into the game firstly a lightening run and superb cross by Jamie found Cameron in the box to score his second. Shortly after Cameron grabbed his hat trick with a great solo effort. Royston began to believe they could get something out of this game and poured forward. Unfortunately Baldock had other ideas and with another long, high ball they scored against the run of play, this dealt Royston a blow that they didn’t really recover from and conceded two more goals right at the end of the game.
